NYSUT Community Service Award 2018

The Mineola Teachers Association consistently evidences a belief in community service. In 2017 they demonstrated this by:

  •  Participating in the Chamber of Commerce Street Fair, holiday lighting, and PTA Regatta.
  •  Contributing $1,670 to charities including: Thanksgiving meals and baskets and Mineola Library.
  •  Awarding $17,850 in scholarships to graduating seniors.
  •  Sponsoring the Honors Buffet and the New Teacher Orientation Program.

The Mineola Teachers Association consistently evidences a belief in community service. In 2015 they demonstrated this by:

  • Participating in the The Mineola High School Thanksgiving Food Drive & The Chamber of Commerece Fall Fair.

  • Awarding $13,350 in scholarships to Mineola High School graduating seniors.

  • Contributing $2,050 to local families and the Friends of the Mineola Library.

  • Sponsoring The Holiday Lighting Program & The Mineola Junior Fire Department.
  • Having 100% teacher membership in SEPTA and Building PTAs.

  • Sponsoring the Mineola Chamber of Commerce Street Fair.

  • Awarding $13,750 in scholarships to graduating seniors.

  • Contributing over $11,000 to The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.

  • Having 100% teacher membership in SEPTA and Building PTAs.

  • Participating in the Mineola Chamber of Commerce Street Fair.

  • Awarding $10,950 in scholarships to graduating seniors.

  • Contributing $18,500 to Hurricane Sandy Relief.

  • Having 100% teacher membership in SEPTA and Building PTAs.
